Prosecution

The case against Kevin Nunn

After nearly two years of investigation, Suffolk police provided the following evidence to Ipswich Crown court in

October 2006:

  1. A 1mm by 1mm hair fragment of hair found in the lining of Kevin Nunn's laundry basket.

  2. Footprints on the footpath a metre from the deposition sight belonging to Kevin Nunn.

  3. Main theme of investigation and trial was 'jealousy killing'. This information was gleaned

from work colleagues of Dawn Walker and evidence given by Kevin Nunn's ex wife of

12 years. Kevin Nunn was portrayed as being possessive, a liar and a stalker.

  4. Kevin Nunn had a key cut to Dawn Walker's house in 2004 without her or anyone else's knowledge.

  5. An alleged disturbance and argument within Oak Close, where Dawn Walker lived, on the evening

she was last seen by Kevin Nunn (2nd February 2005). The argument occurred after 10pm witnessed

by a neighbour who lived opposite seeing a man the same height as Dawn Walker in a dark suit - he

  assumed it was Kevin Nunn.

   6. A voice message from Dawn Walker lasting approx 60 seconds. It was sent Thursday 3rd

February 2005 04.50am to Kevin Nunn's mobile phone - after picking it up some 3 hours later

he accidentally deleted the message but the prosecution told the jury this was a part of

Kevin Nunn's devious plot to hide the truth and cover his tracks.

  7. P Dale, (main prosecution witness) lived across the road from Dawn Walker.

She alleged seeing two people and a silver estate car parked on the end of the drive of the home

of Dawn Walker in Oaks Close, Fornham St Martin. They were struggling with what she

described as a laundry bag or a rolled up carpet about 4.50am Friday 4th February 2005.

One of the men Dale recognised, she told the court, was Dawn Walker's boyfriend, the other

person ran off after spotting Dale driving towards them.

  8. CCTV footage of Dawn Walker leaving the Suffolk Swallow Gym at 2130hrs 2nd February 2005.

Kevin Nunn was also at the Gym that evening and had said he left around 2030hrs but Police alleged

he had lied about his movements.
